There are many Durham residents who travel to Raleigh and Morrisville to get their climbing fix. Triangle Rock club hopes to keep those members happy while growing their member base in Durham. Personally, I like it when old Walmart's, McDonald's, or other buildings with a branded look are re-purposed. It lends a sense of creativity and grittiness to an area (see the TROSA thrift store in an old Walmart in the Braggtown area).

This quick hit marks the first time this blog has ventured to neighborhoods that aren't downtown or adjacent to downtown. I hope to continue this trend as both the downtown loop and the more suburban areas are both vital components to the identity of Durham. Triangle Rock Club, for instance, is sure to see plenty of visitors who live downtown.
